Adult education and training is simply not a question about adults learning but about adults learning at different stages of the life course and in varied social and cultural circumstances. The seminar aims at discussing life-long learning in history and the relation between life course and adult education from the perspectives of individuals, institutions, society and different cultural traditions.
The organizers invite researchers from different parts of Europe to discuss these themes. Doctoral students are especially welcome.
On Monday (June 8th), there will be a special session about "Nordic Adult Education". Papers discussing whether such a phenomenon exists, what is it, which kind of functions it has had and whether it has any relevance today, are welcomed.
